This week’s Brief captures momentum in real time. The cultural significance of The Grammys is still rippling; the Winter Olympics are underway, and Super Bowl weekend has arrived. Live events reclaim cultural oxygen, reminding us what still commands collective attention. In beauty and fashion, creator-founded brands step into prestige, legacy houses reinforce their dominance, and behind-the-scenes executive moves signal where power is consolidating. Finance and tech continue to translate for the next generation, adapting incentives, language, and infrastructure to shifting behavior. The throughline is fluency: who can scale without losing relevance, and who knows how to meet the moment while it’s happening.

This Week’s Pins

Beauty & Fashion

  • CYKLAR, the modern fragrance and body-care brand, has announced it will soon be available in Sephora. Founded by creator and entrepreneur Claudia Sulewski and backed by The Center, the brand has become a cult favorite through high-performance, fragrance-forward body essentials that create sensorial rituals. Previously a creator-led DTC, Sephora marks the brand’s first major retail partnership and its growth into a category-defining prestige brand. Sulewski shared the news on her personal social media, posting a compilation video highlighting her long-term relationship with the retailer from her early content-creation days.

  • Saint Laurent has been named the world’s hottest fashion brand by The Lyst’s Index Q4 2025 report, followed by Miu Miu and Cos, with Ralph Lauren and Prada climbing up to spots four and five. The report uses Lyst shoppers’ behavior, including searches on and off-platform, product views, and sales, alongside social media mentions, activity, and engagement statistics worldwide.

  • Colorescience has been acquired by RoundTable Healthcare Partners. The sun protection and skin care brand was previously owned by 1315 Capital.

  • Emilie Leblanc has joined Bottega Veneta as its new Global Marketing and Communication Director. Previously, Leblanc spent most of her career at Saint Laurent in Paris, but most recently served as global communications director at Celine.

  • Coach sales surged 25% in Q2 and have been a primary driver of parent company Tapestry’s 14% year-on-year revenue increase in the second quarter of 2026. The Coach brand has been experiencing high demand in North American markets and has been investing in its Gen Z consumer.

Finance & Tech

  • SuperCircle has raised $24M in Series A funding. The AI-powered reverse logistics platform helps fashion brands implement textile recycling to advance a circular economy as retail waste costs mount. Investors include Foundry, BBG Ventures, Renewal Fund, and Elemental Impact, and the funding will be used to build sotting factories, improve data systems, and support the onboarding of more brands in addition to Guess, Reformation, and J.Crew.

  • The Bilt credit card, known for being the only card to reward loyalty points for rent payments, has made complex changes. The once-fee-free card with straightforward point requirements has announced that the current card, in partnership with Wells Fargo, will be replaced by three card options and multiple point rewards systems available to users.

  • Canva is speaking to the chronically online in their native language. The graphic design platform has unveiled a language setting that makes all words lowercase and changes section titles, including “Projects” to “past rizz” and “Canva AI” to “robot stuff,” making their target audience of Gen Alpha and online brain rot victims clear.

Entertainment

  • The 2026 Grammys were marked by memorable performances, big wins, and explicit political commentary. Bad Bunny won Album of the Year for “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” just one week before he is set to perform at the Super Bowl, and brought the audience to their feet as he made a statement against ICE in his acceptance speech. Kendrick Lamar took home 5 trophies, making him the Grammys’ winningest rapper with 25 lifetime wins. Olivia Dean won Best New Artist and shared that as the grandchild of immigrants, she is the “product of bravery.” Billie Eilish and Finneas won Song of the Year for “Wildflower” and “we need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting.” Justin Bieber performed a stripped-down version of “Yukon” while literally stripped down to just his boxers and socks.

  • The Winter Olympics have officially started in Cortina, Milan, with the opening ceremony on February 6th. The games will feature highly anticipated sports, figure skating, hockey, snowboarding, and skiing over the next two weeks.

  • ‘Melania’ has arrived in theaters to mixed reviews: some success, some flopping. The documentary follows First Lady Melania Trump over the 20 days leading up to President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Amazon is heavily invested in the film’s rollout, spending over $35 million on its promotion. The result was a $7 million opening weekend with theaters occupied by a largely white (75%), women (70%), and 55 or over (72%) audience.

The Algorithm

  • Groundhog Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and subsequently predicted that winter would last 6 more weeks. With polar vortexes and cyclones pummeling the Northeast, ice storms in the south and midwest, while Southern California is 80 degrees and sunny in the dead of winter, many people trying to navigate their day-to-day are wondering what is up with the weather and seeing firsthand the extreme conditions that were warned about by climate change researchers.

  • Pinterest has unveiled its 2026 color forecast, highlighting Persimmon, Cool Blue, Jade, Plum Noir, and Wasabi as prominent and culturally influential colors for this year.
