Emma was living the NYC private school girl's dream. She had friends, a social life, and a recent admission to Harvard University. On the outside, she was living the dream. What no one knew—or refused to recognize—was that Emma was sliding down the slippery slope of addiction, and no one even thought to try and stop her.

If everything looks picturesque on the outside, the assumption is that everything must also be perfect on the inside. Emma's story is a testament to this fallacy and a warning to others: just because it looks perfect doesn't mean it is.
